LA MAISON DU MOIS
– Le château des Ducs de Mortemart –
Pierres d’Histoire will be opening the doors of a new and magical place for the summer 2020. It is Chateau des Ducs de Mortemart, the foundations of which date from the 10th century, situated in the heart of a picturesque village just 40 km from Limoges.
This medieval style chateau, that can welcome 4 to 6 guests, boasts of a beautiful green park and a pond. No other sound but the murmur of an active nature troubles the peacefulness of this timeless place.
More than a cottage, a Pierres d’Histoire house is a place of wonder, a place to share with those who we love, a place to give time to yourself , to recapture those simple moments of happiness.
Our houses all have a history, are witnesses to past lives of splendor and hard labor, to deep secrets. They are places where time stands still, where elegance and tranquility are offered.

Pierres d’Histoire partners with la Fondation pour les Monuments Historiques
In France, thousands of historical buildings are threatened simply because they are not being use. Yet, when those buildings are restored, they turn into exceptional places of stay.
Our clients express it best: “No need to go any further for the definition of paradise! A balcony hanging over the river, the sound of the wind blowing in the trees, the murmur of water… and the mill like a bastion whose unique purpose would be to look after this peaceful nature. We don’t want to budge from here nor even leave it.”
From this two-fold observation was born my idea to launch Pierres d’Histoire and that’s why we are committed to donating €10 per stay to the Fondation pour les Monuments Historiques.
