In summary

In the heart of the Luberon and 50 kilometers from Avignon, the village of Ménerbes is set on the rocky overhangs overlooking the Calavon planes. At the top of this beautiful “village d’artiste”, is an elegant 18th century edifice known as Hôtel de Tingry.

This exceptional setting is perfect for a quiet getaway. Guests can but be charmed by the architecture of the site and its spectacular sceneries. Between Gordes and Bonnieux, this Bed & Breakfast situated on the highest point of Ménebres, is the perfect place of departure to discover the surrounding region.

The apartments on the top floor consist of a lavish and well-appointed room with a private bathroom. In this luxuriously quiet environment, you can read, write, relax and make the most of the exceptional views. In fact, more than just a place of passage for your travels, Hôtel de Tingry is a true invitation to a stay of refinement and relaxation.

Enjoy a “donkey trek” with friends or family, a popular outdoor pastime in this region. Roam through the mountains, look for the famous Bories villages on the heights of the Vaucluse, explore Provençal Colorado with its amazing ochre colors, be marveled by the smells of the traditional markets in Apt, visit the antique stores of Isle sur la Sorgue and splurge in their famous candied fruits.

You can feel the mellow, peaceful perhaps even mystical atmosphere as soon as you enter Hotel de Tingry. The architecture is close to that of an old Italian palazzo with its huge volumes and imposing stone stairway. The transalpine inspiration of the edifice makes sense when you know that the original owners and builders of this building where the Laurents, a family from Piedmont.

Paintings hang on the walls of the many salons and the grand windows open on to  vineyards, or on to the luxuriant Dora Maar Mediterranean gardens. There is a feeling of spiritual retreat in this calm sanctuary where meditation and tranquility is optimal.

Meals during the summer period are taken either on the outside terraces or in the pool house next to the swimming pool. In winter, you can choose to dine in the immense dining room, or perhaps next to the monumental fireplace in the vast kitchen worthy of that of a castle.
